Company History

Les Day Insurance is a family owned and operated business that has served residential and commercial clients on Cape Breton Island and mainland Nova Scotia since 1964. During this time we have earned a reputation for delivering excellent service and sound advice. The staff at Les Day Insurance Agency thoroughly understand why Insurance is important and work hard to deliver on our commitment to provide the best possible services and products to meet your family’s needs.

Reggie Day

BROKER MANAGER

Reg started working with his father Les Day as an Insurance Specialist in 1987. After his father’s retirement Reg took up the pledge to continue to provide the same level of personal service his father was famous for delivering. His more than 24 years of experience enable Reg to provide sound advice and share his unsurpassed knowledge of Insurance products. Reg learned at an early age that it is important to be involved in the community that supports his family. His community involvement included such things as: Kinsmen Association, where he held all executive offices including President 3 times; Zone 3 Service Chairman (Cape Breton) and District 7 Officer (Atlantic Canada); Brasd’Or Co-op Broad of Directors; Volunteer with Brasd’Or Elementary School Programs, including basketball, hockey and of course, minor baseball. Married for over 20 years to his wife Joanne, Reg continues his commitment to make his community better.

Mary Jean Jessome

BROKER MANAGER

Like her brother Reg, Mary Jean has been involved in the family business since 1980. With over 35 years of experience Mary Jean provides our clients with the best possible products at the best possible price. Her volunteer activities include figure skating, school programs and countless youth programs. Married for over 30 years, she and her husband Andy have raised three children, two of whom work at Les Day Insurance. Today, Mary Jean and her family continue to support countless charities and community-based initiatives.

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES

Jacqueline Seymour

Jacqueline has been working for her grandfather for the past 8 years. She continues to further her insurance studies and is currently seeking her C.A.I.B. (Canadian Accredited Insurance Brokers Program) level 4. From her family Jacqueline has learned that to be a good corporate citizen it is important to give back. Following her uncle Reg and her mother Mary Jean, Jacqueline and her husband Dennis are currently raising their two children but still manage to volunteer their time with the local school, as well as figure and power skating programs.

Kathy MacRae

Kathy comes to Les Day Insurance from outside of the insurance community. For over 20 years Kathy was involved in the service industry and continues to provide expert advice to her customers. Along with Mark and Jacqueline, Kathy continues to improve her knowledge of Insurance products and is currently working on her C.A.I.B. level 4. Married for the past 30 years to her husband Eric, they and their three children continue to support their community. The associations and community organizations they belong to are too numerous to mention. From Kinsmen and minor hockey to minor baseball and women’s hockey, hardly a major event takes place in the community without their input.

Jena Jessome

Papa’s favorite has been working for her grandfather’s business for the past seven years. As the receptionist for Les Day Insurance Agency, it is usually her voice you hear first when you call our office, Jenna will greet you with a smile and a help you with your payment choices. Along with her mother Mary Jean, her sister Jacqueline, Uncle Reg and her cousins Kathy and Mark, she is dedicated to fulfilling your insurance needs.
